Re: How Much Paint Needed? Orange is considered the most pleasing color for most people in main rooms. Most flattering. Just use an initial coat of non bleed primer to be sure no show thru. Such a primer can avoid need for a second finish coat in most cases and priming lets you get all set ip and messy while getting in mood for the tighter finish. Also get more than you plan for. Measure twice, cut once doesn't apply to painting. End with a beer & brauts & burgers party.

Just realize it will be a negative when you want to sell so plan to re-paint it or have the buyers make you come down on the price because of it. That's a valid concern if we were ever going to sell. But we built this house to be the last house we'll live in. So we're going to enjoy it the way we want. If for some reason we sell before we are dead, the wall colors will be the last of our concerns. |

Meh, it's often always the case that people putting their house for sale will have to repaint things in neutral tones.
It's part of the house selling sacrifices Repaint, pack up a lot of stuff and re-arrange furniture to the realtor's suggestions. And obviously, let strangers walk around your house |

It's part of the house selling sacrifices Repaint, pack up a lot of stuff and re-arrange furniture to the realtor's suggestions. And obviously, let strangers walk around your house We looked at a few dozen houses in 2010 and the majority didn't repaint. Most just understood they'd lose a few thousand in negotiations because of it. I guess the new way is to just sell the property 'as is' and conceed some money if someone complains. Our agent said sellers gamble that the buyer won't say anything so the seller can make more money this way. -- "Anyway I am going to need to go with, never argue with an idiot as they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." - matt5 |

I figure unless I am hurting to sell, I wouldn't bother. If a buyer is willing to pass on a house they like over some wall colors, oh well. |
