| [WIN7] I have a problem Ok, I have a corrupt user profile. My default profile in Win 7 now thinks it is a guest profile and I cannot do anything. Nothing will install, updates won't update etc. It says I need to type an administrator password, but provides no place to type it. And no I cannot create a new profile for the same reason. -- da Cajun Darn I hate Malware |

Last thing I can suggest, (barring a fresh install) try starting Windows in "safe" mode. Then try a "restore" from "safe". Good luck! -- Come fold for a cure with us @ Team Helix.

One more thing you might look at.
In "System Properties/Advanced/user profiles." double click the second profile & try to change it, if that option is available. Reboot & see if you can add a new profile. (It may not let you do it there either.) -- Come fold for a cure with us @ Team Helix.

rusdiAmerican VPremium,MVM join:2001-04-28 Flippin, AR kudos:1 | Well.....I got nuthin' else, but wait. Someone with knowledge of what you can do to fix it might come along, (I really REALLY don't like to reinstall, unless everything else has been exhausted.)
It might be a simple fix. That's how most of these seemingly impossible problems usually are. Good luck! -- Come fold for a cure with us @ Team Helix.

| Yeah I even have a backup, one I've previously tested, it's using the windows backup utility and now that won't run either. I get the UAC warning, wants me to type a password but gives me no place to type it. -- da Cajun Darn I hate Malware |
