Ch 4HD QAM not working

Did you rescan the channels? Perhaps they moved it ahead of the game to a less crowded QAM (complete speculation).

Funny how it went crazy just for the Superbowl and only that channel. Apparently CV stopped transmitting the correct PSIP information. Channel 4.1 appears on 93.704 and 4.2 is on 93.109. I have an A/B switch so I went OTA until I had a chance to scan around. Somebody is definitely screwing around.

I was watching too and was like WTF. Checked twitter and saw other people complaining about various issues with the NBC feed on CV and Comcast and Cox. It just totally disappeared and I did scan again 3 times over 1hr time span and nothing. Guess i'll check 93-704 though to see how that goes.

I ended up watching the game on 30-1 (CT NBC)

perhaps it was done in an attempt to thwart those using QAM tuners in a PC connected to cable, to rebroadcast the game on free live streaming sites like justin.tv since justin.tv was inundated with tons of illegal superbowl live streams.

There is no excuse for this. We were having a Superbowl party so the main TV was hooked up to a box. Some of the other TV's had to be set to Analog 4 in order to watch the game. If they wanted to do this, they should have done it days before the Superbowl so if there was a problem it could have been fixed.

I suggest anyone who was effected file a complaint with both the FCC and their local board. They are required to provide a clear QAM feed of the broadcast channels and I suspect the agencies will frown on an action like this occurring in the middle of a major event.

i thought i might have been the only one to have this problem. lost the channel on both of my digital tvs. got the signal back on one, missed beginning of game. forgot about the other nbc feeds. i lost the signal between 3 and 4pm i think. no other channels affected. called cablevision twice, no help there, they tried to blame nbc. offered to send a tech next day, for what? obvious to me they screwed with the signal in some way for some reason.

To get more box rentals, of course...

I noticed last night that 4.1 and 4.2 were back. I guess that accidental (LOL) PSIP glitch has been fixed. Funny it didn't effect any other channel in the QAM lineup.

i noticed when it happen, quite a large number of illegal video streams of the super bowl suddenly went black.

Explains why I couldn't get 4-1 working. I was recording two shows on my Tivo and tried to tune my TV to 4-1.

I barely use my TV tuner but once in a while it comes in handy for times like this. I ended up canceling one of my shows so I could watch it through the Tivo.
