1 edit | [Anime] Anime removed from Cartoon Network? For a long time Cartoon Network showed [anime] shows on Saturday night such as the critically acclaimed Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, and more.
This was a way that a lot of people got introduced to [anime].
Last night (Saturday) this was all gone---vanished---with no explanation, replaced by shows like Robot Chicken (ugh) and Clone Wars (a good show, but which they already show during the day).
Cartoon Network used to show LOTS of [anime] but in the last few years they only showed it on Saturday nights. Fair enough.
But now they have taken even THAT away!
Yes, we can watch [anime] online. But it is an important genre that deserves a place on Cartoon Network.
Further, being on CN makes many young people aware of the existence of [anime] to begin with.

Whats the point there are plenty of people that don't want to watch a bunch of grown men try to jump on each other, but all the other channels seem to think they should can everything to help the superbowl get better ratings

[AS] promoted all week that because Episode 1 was coming back to theaters in threeeeeeeeeeeee-deeeeeeeeeeeeeeee they were going to celebrate by playing all the SW stuff they run. No worries, it's a one time thing.
I just wish they would get some more new titles, they've played the life and death out of Cowboy Bebop. |

Channel 5.1 has a few different anime's on Saturday morning "Toonzai"
Two episodes of DBZ-Kai from 10-11am. That's all I really care about.

Cartoon Network does have a history of killing good stuff (Toonami, Toon Heads, June Bugs, the classic WB Looney Tunes....) so I view any changes on their part with trepidation. |

Niche cable channels do that stuff constantly, Scifi is another good example of a station built on the kind of people that watch B-Movies, MST3K, old scifi show reruns and even some Anime... Today its the WWE.
G4 runs marathons of COPS..
