| zomga.... surprisingly good help from 3web/distrib i called distrib's tech support this morning. first off the wait time was only about 5 minutes.
i subscribe to 3web/distributel voip. it's $4.55 a month for their basic voip. i told the guy i used to get emails about voicemails but it stopped last summer. he said when i cancelled cable internet at that point, the voip/cable was unbundled and i no longer subscribe to advanced voicemail which would email recorded calls.
he said it was free in the bundle but $1.95/mo unbundled. they already had the correct email to send the voicemails to. he added advanced voicemail to my account.
sure enough when i tested it, i got an email including a wav file of the voicemail.
this guy was friendly, answered fairly quickly, but more importantly knew the product he was supporting very well and quickly solved the issue. he didn't put me on hold, he didn't ask his manager as everyone at teksavvy seems to have to do. to make the change in his system took seconds not the damn "24-48 hours" BS i'm used to.
if distrib sells 25/7 and static ips with their own modems in the future i may have to think twice about them. |

| if you become active with their twitter account, you will see that they are are very active in answering and looking into customer's complaints, showing that they care. Problems happen with every company but it is the effort that you put in to show that you care that matters. I would have had no issues with distributel even if they had raised their prices a little bit as long as their current customer service is delivered, it is worth it.
Let us not jinx it though as we have all seen what can happen with Teksavvy. I just hope distributel continues its fine service and rest assured they will keep growing by leaps and bounds which they already are. |
