signmeuptoo Love those still alive Premium join:2001-11-22 NanoParticle kudos:4 Reviews: ·Comcast ·Optimum Online ·callwithus	Earthquake and tsunami scare A 6.7 earthquake hit the island right near my Alain's island, just a few miles away, last night, and scared the whits out of everybody. There were fatalities on the next door island and a tsunami scare. It knocked phone lines out and I couldn't reach her and all the internet locations closed for fear of tsunamis and aftershocks, so I spent the night worried sick. Her tiny house has a tall, heavy, firewall beside it that could come down and destroy the house. She and our boy are ok so I feel a little better but very sad for those that suffered a loss. She said they aren't sleeping until they are convinced no more aftershocks. Living on the "Ring of Fire" always comes with excitement... Since she is just feet from the water, the tsunami aspect had them very scared, she was still shaking when I finally got a line through to her. Right when I first tried to call her it was happening, and she couldn't answer because she was running. -- Join Teams Helix and Discovery. I remember earthquakes when I lived in CA. In the RPI it is a little worse because structures are held together with, well, bailing wire, if you will. Most houses are about the size of a small living room and are only a foot or two apart from other houses. And, structurally, they aren't even as good as an American shack... But it IS paradise, such a lovely place with natives that are wonderful, at least on her island. Warm, friendly people who are hard working and kind. I watched ABS-CBN news story but I don't speak Tagalog so I couldn't understand what they were saying when they slipped out of English. -- Join Teams Helix and Discovery. It means other people suffered though. She still prays for everybody here when I tell her about folk's needs.

She's even too modest for facebook. Our boy, however, is a real ham, very engaging. I'll let her know what you guys say. I called a couple hours ago but she needed more sleep time to make up for yesterday's scare. What is difficult is I have no way to reach her if something happens to her for all practical purposes. FWIW I saw a newer social media on the news yesterday called Path.com and it sounds more conservative but similar. Limited to a maximum of 100 friends. More prayer going out this morning.
