NS5 Issue?

Has anyone had an issue with either an NS5 or the POE for the NS5 where it can't handle 100MFDX or somehow drops from FDX to HDX?

What we see is the link stays up all the time however anything behind the remote end (switch) drops periodically, we have replaced the cat-5 from the NS5 to the POE. And it's only a 50ft run.

Thoughts?

Managed or non managed switch if managed can you force to 100/fdx? without any issues?

managed.
I plan on trying that exact thing but not until I have a tech on site just in case it goes south.

It might be that its like some of the old Ciscos unless everything is more than perfect you have a duplex mismatch..

We used to just hard code all our old Cisco gear back in the day

Do you have a surge supressor on that run?

I had this issue with a rocket - ended up being the power supply. This may be a dumb question, have you swapped out the jumper to the poe?

A lot of the UBNT power supplies have built in surge. We have had to replace those before to get a wired side link to not bounce around with it's negotiation rates. Just sayin

Gunther. I will look into that as well. Did you replace with another UBNT PS or something different?

I started using Last Mile Gear CTM's to power our UBNT, mikrotik, and canopy equipment.

Just changed to a diff UBNT PS. Normally happens after lightning around here for us. A couple here and there. If it's not a total PS failure, that is normally what they seem to do. It's pretty easy to spot remotely with the Lan status via the GUI. Just a constant switching back and forth. At least it's something I have seen a few times here.

It is normally a 10 to 100 change though, not a FDX to HDX. But I can't see that much of the problem on the GUI of the radio. Just something to check any way.

Sure, let me try to dig up the post. I posted pictures in one of my tower buildout threads. Gino made the recomendation.

Here ya go: »Re: Towersite buildout part 3

»lastmilegear.com/index.php?produ···MBER__=1 It's the CTM-2m.1u2

All you need to do is swap your blue's & browns on the cat 5 connector that plugs into the power/ethernet out port of the CTM.

Has a few nice features - remote reboot, temperature reading, current reading per port, redundant power supplies, and does GPS timing for your canopy equipment.

I'd recommend looking into the Cable interference with power along the 50ft line...
