Need some help on getting PCI sata controller to work

Hey Guys
I just bought some PCI sata controller cards from newegg and its Rosewill ATA 1.5G/ATA 133 RAID Controller Card and I am trying to get it to work on my HP DC5000MT computer and when I go into BIOS it doesnt give me no options to set the raid so what do I need to get this to work?

Are you in your HP BIOS or RAID BIOS?, these are 2 different systems, Without knowing exactly what model you have, For a Rosewill RC-212 it say to press the tab key during boot up.

Are you doing this?

I think this is the manual... »www.rosewill.com/Mgnt/Uploads2/A···-web.pdf

If so, it says to press tab to enter the card's BIOS. Generally, these kind of add-on cards are not configurable from the main BIOS and have their own utilities that are accessible separately. The only option you should set from your main BIOS is boot order, so that the card is booted first (if that's what you want). Normally, the boot device (in main BIOS) to look for is generically called "add-on card" or "SCSI".

What model HP is this? It is possible that the HP BIOS will not let add on BIOS's work as well as now allow booting off add on cards.

It's possible that the card doesn't really like the slot it's in. If things prove unreliable, try moving the card to another slot.

Because you will need to load the drivers during the Blue screen part of the windows installation, and they must come from a floppy or be integrated in to the XP install CD

you can "cheat" by booting the XP drive on a controller that is already recognized by the drivers already installed. If need be, even clone over to an old IDE drive and boot into that. Leave an empty drive on the RAID card.

So, once XP boots, can install the necessary drivers for the new controller card. To make sure it works, format the empty drive.

Next step, replace the empty drive with the XP drive. Now when XP boots, it will already have the right drivers installed. (If had cloned to IDE, clone back to the drive you want to use).

Sometimes, it's nice to not have to reinstall all your programs and so on.
