Their website sucks though. Doesn't instill confidence. I can't find that $100 setup fee. Do you have to actually submit your data before they mention the $100 fee?

I didn't think they were still around... It's been years since anyone has posted anything about them here...

Re: Unlimited usage

FTTN 25 shows a $100 setup so I assumed it was the same for 10mbps.

Their site does suck but they own their own DC in downtown MTL, had a tour once wasn't bad. I think they're mostly cogent.

The old owner retired and sold the business last year.

Re: Unlimited usage

AEI did submit a couple of documents to CRTC a few years ago.

It means "Aventures En Internet" or something like it.

There have been around for a long time.

That should put pressure on a certain popcorn eating ISP to deploy FTTN as well.

Re: AEI internet new FTTN packages.

I'm wondering if their whole network is still "one" 100 meg pipe for everyone on dsl like it was ages ago. The beauty of AEI is no matter what speed you sign up for you get around 50 kilobytes per second download speed at 5 in the morning. Less the rest of the day. You phone in and get a recording. No wonder it's unlimited their bandwidth is non-existent.

Not so bad when you think TSI is charging 77.95, still $6 cheaper.

Their whole network was one 100 meg pipe and a 10 meg pipe. This was around 2005. At one time their whole network got hit with a virus as they cut someone off for having a virus on their computer. I guess it was tit for tat.

One interesting unique feature of their order form is the ability to let you know if your line is currently served by remote or not. Not sure how accurate it is but, it's nice to have it. If anyone is fed from a non-remote (ie: actual CO), can you please enter your number in the order form to see if it displays you are on a non-remote?

Still beats the hell out of TSI's 44.99 per month for the crappy 10 mbits.

I only have 6mbit DSL available in my neighbourhood, and when I put in my number, it says "Served from: Host"

Thank you Avp77 for your help in confirming.

So as I understand it when it says "Served from: Host", your line is currently connected to the central office host. And the other one is when it says "Served from: Remote", means your line is currently connected on a remote RDSLAM(those brown mini-boxes we see more and more near street corners). Prices are very good.

You should consider Electronic Box for Cable. I've been with them for years and never had an issue. If you sign up mention LM6
