| Full price is $99.95 AFAIK -- I speak for myself, not my employer. |

 | You're kidding me, I hope?! $100 for what I'm assuming is a 50/5 plan? Sure hope OP got setup for MUCH less than that?

Ouch!! Sadly, no I am not kidding. It is expensive and that's the reason why I don't have it. -- I speak for myself, not my employer. |

 | I wouldn't either!! |

 | Someday the internet will be fast and "cheap". I've been waiting 10+ years, it's never going to happen. I had 50/5 for a while, it was ok but not worth the price. 100/10 maybe, still not really worth $100.
Then again who's the hypocrite paying $70 for 20/2. Yeah. |

The internet is fast, it is just that the definition of how fast "fast" should be keeps going up. And the internet is cheap, it is just that the expectation of how low-cost "cheap" should be keeps going lower. |

3 edits | reply to einsteins No it's gone up in price quite a bit and it should/could have been this fast a long time ago but everyone is a greedy prick. Thanks for the input cable company guy. "Oh no I don't work for an isp, I'm just taking a stupid stance against my own interests as a consumer." There I saved you the trouble.
said by implode:jealous of folks who can afford 50 and 100 MB tiers... It's just not worth the price. Wait 20 minutes instead of 10, oh no let me pay $30 more. They're metering now anyway aren't they? They don't even have to send out a notice or anything. Cool to be the only option. If I get a call about utilization I'm dropping down to the cheapest tier they have. |
|
 | reply to einsteins I have had this 50/5 tier for a long time. it has been pretty stable and it is expensive. If/when the 105 is avail, id even consider it, but its really expensive. But if they had it on a special trial, Id at least have to try it. |

1 edit | reply to einsteins They gave me a promo rate for a year that's cheaper than I was paying for 20/2. Back on 50/5, I like mediacom again. Unless the bill is all screwed up next month, very likely. It's not like you ever get a confirmation email or anything concrete, just some chick making unverifiable claims. We'll see.
I cancelled 50/5 for something like 5 months which apparently was long enough to qualify for promo prices again. I don't want them turning the screws so everyone else stay off, thanks friends. |

hdtv00 join:2003-06-13 Silvis, IL | reply to Clever Name Yea they want all 3 services for $80 or 90 and they'll give you 15M down well that isn't worth $30 more no way. Everyone knows the phone service is complete and utter waste at this point. Everyone has a cell or and line phone cost what $15 a month tops if you really care.
$70 for 20/2 that's at least a real bump in speed but I still feel 2 up is pathetic 20 down is decent though but not so much at $70. if it were $55 like I'm paying now then ok. And 12 should be $40 with no made up extra line fee's and whatever else when you have just one service.
$70 for year for 50/5 is right on the money if you ask me. or $75 whatever they make up extra. Either way for that I'm willing to test it out. And test it out I will... |

|
 | I pay $150 for 80mb speeds from my provider, to some people an extra hundred bucks a month really doesn't make much difference, compared to a month worth of waiting for downloads. $100 is what two hours of my time billed to a client come to, so it really doesn't take much to earn that back. |
