Closed Beta Starts this weekend and game launches May 1st. I might just pre-order to get in Beta and cancel if it sucks. Anyone else ever do that? Did you pre-order with Amazon or with the publisher itself? Thanks.
There is nothing wrong with pre-ordering a game in order to get in on beta tests if the company is offering access as a bonus. I will be trying Tera this weekend (10-12) as I have an IGN Prime membership that allowed me access for this round of beta test.
Isn't this games gameplay designed to where it actually takes skill to attack something? You can't just target something and your toon will hit it when it moves, you have to keep your target reticle on it? And if you want to dodge or miss an attack, you actually have to move instead of percent chance to miss it?
Can anyone get into the beta if they pre-order? I am on the verge of cancelling SWTOR so I may just pre-order this and see if the beta lives up to snuff.
In recent memory, betas so far have convinced me to buy BF3 (+), SWTOR (-), and avoid Diablo 3 (TBD).
Yes. If you pre-order than you get into all the Betas and headstart. Today's beta starts 12:00 p.m. PST. However Amazon pre-orders seem to be having an issue with getting beta keys out. I pre-ordered with En-Masse. Link below for additional information. Can I be DSLR's #1Tera FAN!?!?! j/k.
Be careful, that may cause you to post nekked pics to DSLR, then have Archivis post pics of your wife and say he's been banging her for a year, and shortly thereafter you ragequit DSLR.
Ephrata, PA? Wow I live near the King of Trolls. I'm a fan of your work. Tera seems to be adding movement and targeting to the MMO genre. You must target attacks and you must move to actually dodge attacks. No auto attacks.
One of the interesting things about this combat system is that you have to actively block attacks (think Batman Arkham or Witcher 2) and you can't just tab-target to passively "lock on" to someone.
Whether those minor adjustments to MMO mechanics and the execution of the rest of the game are enough to set it apart remains to be seen.
Wow, you guys aren't far from me at all. Allentown here. Always interesting to find people close by.
Kris, I'll be looking forward to your report after the weekend. I'd preorder and jump in the beta this weekend if I wasn't going out of town. If its good though, I may jump in during the week.
Wifey is working 2nd shift this weekend so I'll be on pretty much 3-11 p.m. When she's home I get too much aggro and I won't do group related things as groups my suffer as I afk.
