you probably have a rename scroll in your game mail. when the servers merged back in november, higher level actives got priority over lower level dorment players - it's just tough luck, sorry. i even lost a name i took in prelaunch because i only got it to level 13, while someone on another server months later took that same name to 60. the best way to find out if a name is still taken is to use character creation and try each name you want on a new level 0, then delete that character and the name will be released for use within a minute, and you can then get it through your rename scroll on the higher level avatar you wanted it for. i'm not sure how the rename scroll resets if the names you try are already taken, but i guess you could try it that way too - i just don't like to risk it as i like trying a lot of different names to see which are still free, then pick amoung them. if you use the rename scroll, the moment you try a name that's free you are now stuck with it.

I lost my main's name after the server merges..

Gw2 has been really fun and assisting to the point my bf had to tell me he felt neglected. Lolz

My warrior is 37 I think. I'm doing that repeated centaur raid event in kessex or Essex whatever it's called.

if it's the event chain i'm thinking of, its like 3-5 events in a row, that rapid cycle, and ends with big boss and chest... great chain for leveling and making gold

yeah didn't realize you were already 37, our best bet at this point for leveling together would be WvW... but it's definitely slower than normal PvE

i'll try to catch up with crafting

once you hit 68-69 you can go to the ORR zones, and with rapid cycling events you can go 68-80 in like one session

Got my account up and running again. Used to play on Basilisks Crag, made it to 60 on priest and warrior is 52ish, I quit before the battlegrounds and queen of argile or whatever patch, so I'm interested in trying that stuff out. I guess I'm on whatever the pvp server is now, and luckily I kept my old names after the rename.

F2P starts Feb'5th in EU (confirmed), and in US (not confirmed).
a 3v3 pvP BG, and at least one new instance dungeon will be added.
Spellbind(green powder) and MW Alkahest(pink powder)
may be removed from NPC and will only come from RNG drops.
this is also unconfirmed but very likely. i would not recommend
stocking up on powder beyond your own near future needs, as it's
likely both powder will drop increase enough for the price to stabilize.

if you have over 2,000g on your character, and wish to add
a Month sub time for Elite status, you can open a support ticket,
ask for a Month to be added and 2,000g in payment to be deducted.
this is being done manually in place of (temporarially removed) chronoscrolls.

confirmation and more details regarding Feb 5th F2P US:

JUST CONFIRMED: MW Alkahest (pink +10-12 powder) will be removed from NPC and drop in stacks by RNG from Bosses and events. stacks will not be distributed to all party members, rather whoever RNG that drop gets it all. there is still no decision made on the fate of Spellbind (green modifyer locking powder), or intricate identification scrolls (used to change modifiers on already masterworked items).

I'm NOT happy with NT Nexus and Powder sale changes,
but the rest of it seems like a step in the right direction.

The timing of the enchanting luck change is great for me, as
i have my fodder and powder save up to +12 my regent weapon.

I hate to say it, but many of these changes were LONG overdue.
players have been complaining since game launch on some of them.

I should be 161 by next weekend... then i'll have to grind SG
100-200 times - till i get my own 6% neck... that will be lovely

as mystic i'm glad since these improve my self heal, crowd control and Aura range

reason for the long downtown is to restructure the databases
to accommodate the 3 bank capacity type of player accounts,
and to get online a new pvP and new pvE server.
