The really strange thing though is that I tried it on all my other boxes and the same thing happened. Anyone else have this happen to them today? |

 | reply to matcarl I too have had that happen, but not for about a month. It also only happened one time on all boxes, after they rebooted they did not do it again. In my case it was not just the menu button, it was any button except the channel up/down or keying in a number directly. |

 kes601 join:2007-04-14 Virginia Beach, VA | reply to matcarl Hmm, that may have happened to me too. The DVR in my bedroom had restarted this morning (I think my cat may have stepped on the remote). My other two boxes had not reset, however I didn't try the menu button. Will try when I get home. |

 | reply to matcarl This happened to me around 2:00am this morning when I turned the box off. It also happened to all of my boxes once before within the past month. I figured it was probably some kind of feature update, but I can't say for sure what that might be. |

1 edit | reply to matcarl repost from the dislikes thread;
last night, aprrox. 2am watching a recorded show, hit skip and the 7232-2 goes out. ***** showing on the display then it blinks, the box goes dark with just the power light flashing on and off. After a few minutes i get ----- on the display then the time pops back up. I turned the box back on and went back through the menu and resumed the show i was watching..strange
Edit: seems it wasnt only me and over several areas..a service update maybe? |

 Gerryex join:2006-05-19 Land O Lakes, FL | reply to matcarl It looks like the thread I started:
»7232 - Spontaneous re-boots!
is a little redundant. I didn't see this thread until after I started mine.
So it looks like there is some problem with 1.9 which is causing these re-boots. But as I said before when I first got 1.9 (several months ago) I didn't get the re-boots. Now for about the last month or so (I think more in the last couple of weeks) I am getting the re-boots as are many others. Is it possible that a new "build" of 1.9 was sent out since the original 1.9 and that new build may be causing the re-boots.
Has anyone contacted Vz about this? If so who did you contact. I don't want to swap out anything or even have a tech come out as its not worth it but I would like to make sure Vz knows there are problems with 1.9.

 Mac973 join:2009-05-18 West Orange, NJ | reply to matcarl I occasionally get reboots when pushing the On Demand button (7232 running 1.9). I had this problem more frequently on my 6416 running v1.8. So it's not a 1.9 issue in this case. |

At first my box said the menu function wasn't available and to try again later. Then it rebooted. |

 | Happened Tuesday night - Hit Menu, went to reboot (7232) |
|
 | reply to matcarl Yes. I also had it happen on my 7232 yesterday. The display showed "boot" and would not respond to any inputs, so I had to power cycle to get it back. I did not try it on my two 7100 boxes. |

 just lou join:2008-05-16 Staten Island, NY | reply to matcarl I just tried my 7100 box in the basement that hasn't been used in a few days, and it reboot after I hit the menu button. Very strange. |

 | reply to matcarl It's happened to me also when pressing the menu button (twice in the last week) and it's happened on both my boxes - one is a 7232 and one is a 6200. |
