How to totally remove blocked add ons in Firefox Portable?
How do you remove bad addons from Firefox?
Firefox kindly blocked the bad addons in question, but I'd like to do more that that. What I'd like to do is remove every trace of the bad addons. How can we do that?
It's in Firefox Portable 3.16, by the way.
As to what they are, one is a "Bing Search Bar". The other is an unwanted "Microsoft Search Helper".
Never mind. I found the bad guys and erased them. The previous attempts to use "ADD & REMOVE Programs" in Windows didn't work, but erasing the items from the Programs folder has caused them to disappear from Firefox.
There may still be traces in the registry, but the windows files the nasties changed were caught by Windows File Protection. The original Windows files were repaired with the original XP install CD.
Guess that solves the problem. Leaving this unanswered post up in case someone else has the same problem the those two badies.
