Forget MLB Extra Innings, get MLB TV every game in HD and cheaper, Plus you get more games. You could pick between 2 packages . This was the price for last year MLB.TV Premium at $119.99 a year and $24.99 a month, or MLB.TV at $99.99 and $19.99 -- all the same low price as last year.

HD quality picture: Speed detection technology delivers live high-definition video at the industry standard of 720p on any size monitor.

Home and away feeds: Watch either the home or away teams' broadcasts.

Alternate audio options: Overlay the home or away teams' radio broadcasts over the live video or use the "Park" option to include the ballpark's natural sounds.

Live game DVR functionality: Pause and rewind or fast-forward live games.

Clickable linescores: Go directly to any at-bat or half-inning of a game.

Multi-game viewing options: Watch up to four games simultaneously.

Picture-in-picture: Choose one game and track another or watch in-game highlights simultaneously in a secondary window.

Live game highlights: Real-time highlights and player stats automatically load into the media player. With one click, the clip instantly launches in a picture-in-picture window.

Player tracker: Customize a list to feature entire fantasy rosters and receive on-deck notifications to watch live at-bat look-ins for each player.

Have to agree with RCN there. Another advantage of MLB.TV is that it doesn't tie up the television. I like to tune in my local nine on the TV, then follow other games with MLB.TV, so there's no flipping back and forth.

There's also the advantage of portability, if you have a laptop. You can watch games anywhere your laptop and Internet connection go.

After several seasons of MLB.TV via a DSL connection, I am looking forward to watching via Fios this year. I expect it to be even better.

There's some inkling the worker bees are moving hard and fast to get all 9 HD channels from InDemand up and running by the time the baseball season starts.

However there's quite a bit of work to do in the next 50+ days. We'll see if it happens.

This is OK but only for hardcore baseball (or hockey) fans.
I would like to see other HD channels like Epix 3,gmc ,perhaps cartoon network and Headline news,CBS sports wouldn't be bad.

In the Boston area NECN HD would be nice considerinbg Comcast said 18 MONTHS ago Verizon had the right to carry NECN HD!

I agree that MLB.TV on a PS3 or Roku is better than Extra Innings.

You could even buy a Roku if you don't have one already with the price difference.

But the 'At Bat 2012" app is free this year (it was $15 last year) and XBox 360 is now supported.

Where did you get that info? I don't see the 2012 app listed in iTunes yet...

Thanks, I read that differently though. To me it says video streaming is included free in the app if you have an MLB.TV subscription, which was the case last year. It doesn't state the app is free.

Edit: Nevermind, I see where it says it under my subscriptions now. That is cool.

Last year I had two At Bat apps -- a "lite" version and the regular one. The lite version was free but was only good for line scores and such but no video or audio streaming. To get that you had to have the full version of At Bat, which I think sold for $16, plus the MLB.TV subscription at $120.

This year it looks like they're upping the MLB.TV subscription to $125 but you can get the At Bat app for streaming for free.

So if I'm reading that correctly, it's a price decrease of $10 this year from last year if you want the whole nine yards.

I think they will just make one app, and sign in to get to premium features.

Got an email from MLB.TV today saying I could renew for the 2012 season at the same price ($120) as last year and get the AtBat app for viewing games on the iPad, etc., for free. So in my case, this will be $15 less than what I paid for the same package last year.

Spring training games will begin streaming March 3.
