Android Straight Talk Phone - Odd activity

I woke up this morning to my friends Android phone going to websites and switching between them and calculator. Doing a bunch of calculations then back to a webpage. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the calculations, although it seemed the web browser had a fancy for google searches.

Should I call a priest? Has anyone else had this happen?

Shall we play a game?

Wouldn't you prefer a nice game of chess?

Was it plugged in at the time and using a third party charger? My OG Droid does this once in an odd while under these circumstances and seems to be a common occurence there.

You know, I never thought of that. I know the standard USB charge is 5v500mA. I Just checked and the charger says 5V800mA. Who would have thought. Guess I'll try to find a better one.

Well I was more thinking of 'generic' chargers versus known brand name ones or one that came with the phone. In all actuality, pretty much every smartphone these days uses at least an 800ma charger. 500ma doesn't provide enough juice to keep the battery topped up if the phone is being used heavily. My OG Droid I can't use a basic 500ma charger in the car with nav running. Did that once on a 3 hour trip and by the time I was at my destination the battery had dropped to around 45% while being plugged in.

But I think there must be something iffy about certain chargers or the way these phones are designed, some interfere with the capacitive screen somehow. Worth trying different chargers to see if it alleviates the issue.

It's more likely the touch-screen digitizer going bad...which can be affected by the charging device not providing charge to spec.

A: Two. One to hold the bulb and one to rotate the universe.

The phone model is an LG L55C. It's about 1.5 months old. The stock charger is 5.1v 700mA. It became loose on one end and tossed.

The Charger that was causing the problem is this one :

It's output voltage is 5V800mA.

I figure if I post the specific model up here people will know NOT to get that charger for the LG L55C at a least.

Also I'd like to note that calling the number on the LG website for support will only get you to Amazon.com customer support, Not sure why that is perhaps someone else has info on that.

(see here : »www.lg.com/us/support)
PHONE

Call a LG Support Representative
800-243-0000

Using this number I was only able to talk to an amazon.com rep.
