 | [Help Me] Dir-615. Have SSID but no IP Hi All
I have a small problem.
I have a Dir-615 router, which I only use for WIFI. It is connected to a Tilgin router (the primary router, TV, phone, internet/accesspoint...) with gigabit cable. Everything is working.
Now I just bought a couple of Android tablet which should support 802.11n. But when connecting they only say 54Mbit/s.
So Im trying to connect to my Dir-615 interface to check up on the settings. My problem is I can't find the IP. I have a SSID which I connect to. But I can't find the IP. The default gateway when connected to my Dir-615 is 192.168.1.1. But that is the IP of the Tilgin router and not the Dir-615.
How do I get the IP of the Dir-615
So far I have tried different Network scanners and port sniffers. When they find the Dir-615 they only report the SSID and not the IP.
Hope you guys can help

 | Hi BimmerE38FN
thx for the quick reply.
I did try that. Did not work. The Dir-615 probably get it IP from from the main router (DHCP). so it should have something like 192.168.1.xxx |

 | If you have not turned off dhcp on the dir-615 then you will have nothing but problems there are a couple of other settings that need to be disabled as well. I would suggest you google how to connect two routers to each other, its easy and will solve your problem. |

| reply to johnhk What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL? What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router? What ISP Modem make and model do you have? If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems. To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged.
If your trying to use the 615 as an AP then yes you'll need to turn off DHCP on the 615 and connect the 615 to the host router using the 615's LAN port, NOT that WAN port. |
