Re: [DSL] The REAL cost of upgrading to 25/7

Correction noted. I appreciate your consideration.

Well, I'm pissed. You wouldn't know it by my posts but it's true. I was planning to switch to 25/7/300 but once I saw the $8 modem rental fee, total price became too rich for me. And unlike you I wasn't told to wait so I have no reason to complain on this point. Now I'm saving up for activation for the 16/1/300 instead. At $60.10 it's much closer to what I can pay anyway. And once Bell gets its act together on throttling, that price is going to be $4.20 cheaper still. If we consider what TSI has done for its customers in the past, we can bet they'll continue to do the same and make every effort to bring prices down and improve quality and value of service. My comparison should be proof enough of this. You could say I'm an optimist, yet a realist.

Now, the extra perceptive among you will note that if I'm paying for a dryloop - which by definition means I do not use "Plain Old Telephone Service" - why would I even need a POTS splitter?

You don't need a POTS splitter if you only have VDSL2 on the line.

i tried to tell my installers this but they put one in anyhow. even though it was working fine without...

the sucky part is they ended up putting a broken one in and it took them two hours to figure that out and they didn't have a spare so they ended up mooching off me and using a spare i had.

Right, that's what I thought. Thanks for confirming. So imma let them install the thing because I apparently have no choice, and then I'll disconnect it after they leave. Great :/
