| [HELP] Cisco RV042 V03 - XBOX360 MTU Issues I have recently replaced my old RV042 V1 router that simply died of old age. The old unit had a telnet hack that allowed MTU settings to be adjusted on WAN interface and XBOX360 live worked great for years. The New unit has MTU settings in the web management interface, however regardless of what settings I use the XBOX360 Live cannot connect due to MTU error.

Firmware Version : v4.1.1.01-sp (Dec 6 2011 20:03:18)
PID VID : RV042 V03
I have scoured the internet, upgraded firmware, tried everything in my power to get this fixed. Alas, I have failed!
Basically new router works great with all devices for the exception of XBOX360, I have two XBOX360 consoles in the house both are having MTU issues with this router. I'm at my wits end, hoping someone here can suggest a miracle fix I have not yet tried. |

| Just want to add, currently the MTU setting on WAN interface is manual 1500. From a PC I can confirm it is correct setting via ping test (maximum ICMP packet size 1472 due to 28 bit overhead)

| Standard Road Runner cable, MTU 1500. XBOX360 works with other routers or when plugged in directly to cable modem. However I need RV042 as it maintains site-to-site VPN for my work networks.
Like I said, everything for the exception of XBOX360 works great. This is a bizarre issue. |

kudos:1 | then 1500 will be fine. I don't know what other goofy config that RV042 has, but i have cisco891 at home with a 1500byte MTU on the WAN side with TWC, and my Xbox works fine. |
