jabarnutLight Years AwayPremium,MVM join:2005-01-22 Galaxy M31 kudos:2 1 edit | Yeah, I'm not quite understanding that either. Are we talking a "+" here, of the "x" close on the tab? (Which is still there). I don't use Chrome a whole lot (but like having several browsers around), so I haven't really noticed any changes.
(Edit) Oh, maybe there was a "+' in the little square section you click on BEFORE (and in order to), open a new tab? -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |
|
 | reply to lordpuffer Chrome now pre-loads web pages as you type in the address bar. |

jabarnutLight Years AwayPremium,MVM join:2005-01-22 Galaxy M31 kudos:2 | Got it...I realized maybe that's what was meant after using Opera after my last post and seeing that same "+" you were talking about. Guess I never took note as to whether it was there (or not), when using Chrome. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

| reply to lordpuffer Thanks for the info lordpuffer . I got via internal update.
Something new I noticed besides the X being removed from the new tab is this...
"not signed into Chrome (You're missing out - sign in)"
Is it safe to use this feature? |

Is it safe to use this feature? There was always a feature to sign into Chrome. I only use it as a browser and sign into my Gmail account, so I find no reason to sign into Chrome the way that Google is offering. Is it safe? I'm sure that it's safe as far as malware, spyware, etc. But I don't know how it affects your Chrome sessions. -- Somebody's Back In Town |

I don't have a Google account setup. If you are talking about clicking on the wrench and then sign into Chrome, then I'm sure it's fine. If it is anything else in your upper right hand corner, check in the Security Forum first. Do you have an extension that you clicked on? -- Somebody's Back In Town |

If it is anything else in your upper right hand corner, check in the Security Forum first. Do you have an extension that you clicked on? I find this to be a very handy feature as it:
1) Let's you sync your bookmarks, etc. across multiple installations of Chrome on different PCs. Add a bookmark on one PC and all of them get it.
2) Let's you add other Google users to the same Chrome installation so that each can customize their bookmarks, etc.
Very handy in my opinion.
The only downside is that all of the data you sync is stored in the cloud and I hope it is secure. |
