Media Playback System
I've got a client who we're installing a home media system for. He'd like the ability to have the central server located out of sight and then have remote media devices that are able to play these video files.
The big requirement is he wants a device where he can pop in a DVD that he owns and have the system do a search to see if the movie already exists in his database and if it doesn't automatically rip it.
I'm pretty sure such a setup doesn't exist so I'm looking for any recommendations on a company or persons on here who can build this system for us. What I'm thinking is a setup where he can have a touchscreen or LCD readout and use buttons on the panel to confirm the copy.
Basically I want a server that'll be rackmounted with a interface device that'll be mounted somewhere with the DVD drive and when he pops in the disk the screen will tell him it's searching for matches and if no match is found ask him if he'd like to rip it and also confirm the movie database information. -- Edrick Smith Independent Film & Broadcast Producer »edricksmith.com
