Today is Bell's Let's Talk Day, a day which symbolizes the need to break down the stigmas that surround mental illness. 5 cents from every text or long distance call on the Bell network, as well as every re-tweet of the message from »letstalk.bell.ca/en/participate.···ticipate will go to anti-stigma charities. As well, CTV and TSN will air a documentary starring Michael Landsberg, who has come forward with his own mental health struggles.

Really. I have nothing against donating to some charity, but I do have an issue with someone saying; use bell, rack up some long distance fee's, use Bell to text people and get billed and Bell will give a nickel to some charity.

I have been a depression sufferer since 94 and am disabled.
Bell can stick their charity up their ass. I don't want their f**king nickels personally. I'd rather miss a meal than get it offered to me from them.
I'd like to see their corporation roll over and die. |

You posted the same Bell kaka last year and that topic was locked up pretty fast.
What makes you think it's any different this year.
No one really cares about Bell or the 20$ they want from you in order to give a nickel to charity.
You could have just posted the message to donate, not the message to use Bell. Like you discovered last year when the same topic got locked up, the cause is lost when you drag Bell into it.
And if all you can do is tell people to F off because the message is lost when you tell people to use bell, then I guess you haven't learned anything at all since the last locked topic on this. Have you? |

And EVERYONE has problems. Do you really think the solution is to put $5 in Bell's pocket so they can donate a nickel to mental health?

When I donate to charity, I do it thru my employer which UNCONDITIONALLY matches my contribution every month.
Or else, I find a charity with AS close as 100% going to the victims.

I disagree. Mental health is the most seriously underfunded areas of health care. While Bell may reap some positive benefit, the larger benefit to society as whole is better.

To those who I offended by my f u comment, I'm sorry. At times, my frustration gets the better of me.
If you can't see past your hate of Bell to partake in this easy to do charity event, then please, follow Thane's advice and donate to any of the worthy causes he lists.
1 in 5 Canadians suffer from mental illness at some point in their lives. For some, it's something they can get over. For others, like me, it's an illness that will see them take medication for the rest of their lives.
There is much work that needs to be done, and as DKS has pointed out, it is one of the most underfunded areas of our health care system. Every little bit helps.
