New car

Decided that my 2002 Civic with 203,000 miles (»Milestone) wasn't going to last too much longer, so I'm trading it in for a 2012 Accord 4 cyl Coupe EX-L with navigation system. I pick it up tomorrow.

Nice car. How much?????????????

Got the car this afternoon. It really looks nice. Silver with a black interior. The 2 door looks so much nicer than a 4 door.

That color is apparently very hard to find, at least in a coupe EX-L w/navigation. The dealer had to get it from another dealer 90 miles away.

I'll try to take a picture this weekend.

Congrats--it's a great car. I prefer the 4-door style--to each his own. Good luck!

I just discovered the new car has a 15 year / 150,000 mile emissions warranty. This includes the catalytic converter and O2 sensors.

Did they give you that full tank? By the way, I have an '09 4-door and I've had a '90, '93, '98 and now of course the '09 (all purchased new). I've been reading around and the consensus seems to be that the '03 to '07 was the best compromise for size and drive-ability, with some criticism of the current model as a little too big. I really like my '09 better than any of the prior ones but I have actually never driven any '03 to '07. The new one did seem a little on the large size by comparison when I first got it, and I certainly wouldn't want it any bigger. I almost bought an used '06 just before I bought the '09 (still have the picture) but I'll tell you the styling of first three years of that generation really didn't appeal to me, and they really improved it with the '06. I think the styling of the current generation has been good from the get-go.

Of course! Hondas come with a full tank of gas at no extra charge.

I was surprised at how much bigger the Accord is now (although there's not much legroom in the back seat). I've owned:
• 87 Prelude
• 91 Accord
• 95 Accord
• 02 Civic
• 12 Accord
All coupes.

There is in the 4-door! Even though the car is pretty big if you're used to Hondas, I really like the roominess. It still gets a lot of great reviews even though some say it's not the absolute standard as in years past. That's ok, I'll stick with the proven "old guard" vs. the new kids in town. By the way, I already have 53,000 miles on mine and the tires are going strong--could get 90,000 on them. On my Infiniti they were toast at 40K.

this is information you should have known prior to buying. makes me wonder how much other stuff you don't know about the car.

nice looking car though! i drove a 91 accord for a long time. it was a nice car.

The warranty never entered into the equation. It was simply a matter of which Accord coupe to buy: 4 cyl auto, V6 auto, or V6 stick. And what color.

I have to admit,

When I bought my bike they told me 3 years unlimited milage warranty.

I said "So, it's a honda, it'll never break."

Never crossed my mind either.

when i set out to buy a new car i knew i wanted a fusion. it was just a matter of what options. i still made it a point to learn all about every detail, even the warranties. it's always better to be knowledgeable before you buy.

The emissions warranty is specific to they type of vehicle and the state in which it is sold and/or operated. The emissions warranty is not disclosed in Honda's sales material. It was only after I looked up PZEV and looked in the warranty book given to me at delivery did I realize it has the 15 year / 150,000 miles emissions warranty.

Besides, I've owned Hondas for 25 years. There's not a lot to learn at this point.

Most people never look in the warranty book at all. So at least give me credit for that.

Can't complain about the mileage (33 mpg in the above photo). This pic was taken after I drove 45 miles, so the total range is 576+45 = 621 miles.

Cause you will need yours, the OP likely will not need his.
Kinda with the OP here... if I was going to buy a new car, Id just get a honda and whatever the warranty is it is...

Nothing else would cross my mind (cept a toyota) seeing the crap American car companies do everyday (being under the hood everyday)... idk why anyone buys that junk.

As the joke goes... American car companies are job security for repair shops lol.

Please, let's not turn this into a foreign/domestic pissing match. I've had Hondas with fuel injectors that go bad at 40k miles. This warranty could be useful if I have to replace the cat converter at 125k, like I had to with my last Honda.

I'm not sure if the salesman even knows this has the 15/150k warranty. I'll check with him next time I see him.

funny thing is i have owned several makes and models of vehicles over the years and the domestic makes have always lasted longer. and the maintenance is cheaper.
