Xrayman,

Your CINR is amazing. I'm on the hills so I can see the tower at about 2.5 miles.
With a 24dB grid I get -41 dBm but my CNIR is oscillating between 21 & 23. When I get 22 or higher I do have the 5 LED below 22 I get only 4. BW is a costante 12Mb/s although ocasionally I see 13.5 with the speedtest. With real life DL I was able to see 15 a few times. I never get less than 11.5/12 unless someone else in my house is using the net.
I'd like to improve my CINR, I even though that my antenna has too much gain and my radio clips the signal. On the other side if I put an antenna with less gain I get more garbage from other towers because these antennas are less directional. Dilemmas, dilemmas, dilemmas...

Nice to be on the hill. It takes a 40ft tower to get a clean shot over the hill 1/2 mile from my location.
One time this winter when the temperature was in single digits and no wind I saw a CINR of 30.
A variable inline attenuator, can be used to solve signal overload problems with high gain antennas.

Atmospheric conditions must be perfect for me tonight. I have never seen numbers like this.

I thought about that, may be a 10dB attenuator would be perfect although it would decrease my output power as well. Shouldn't be a big deal though because I'm sure my signal is very strong at the tower site....

THis is fantastic man, particularly at >5 miles. I think that CINR of 29 kicks in 64QAM with the best FEC ratio. CLEAR rocks man, in my opinion they should have installers like Direct TV coming to your home and putting antennas outside. This way more and more people would be happy. Not everybody can do this themselves. What equipment do you have?

I have a CPEI25725 series M modem and a corner reflector. Nothing else. I have been extremely happy with Clear. They have been very stable for me and Ive only been bit by the speed cap once, when they initially brought the software online. If I had to, I could go to Verizon, they have a tower that is literally next door to me but I would be doubling my cost. The most frustrating thing for me is that the Ontario county fiberoptic loop goes over the driveway to my house, and I cant touch it - only commercial access.

I got clear back in 2009. I live in NW Chicago, by Ohare.
My plan says I'm suppose to have 4Mbps download speed, and 0.5Mbps upload speed.
But My average speed is always like this.

Darvin, can you tell us what is your signal intensity and your CINR? I think you could greatly benefit with the purchasing of an external antenna.

The HyperGain HG2424G will work as is but to improve performance I modified the dipole to achieve a better match in the WiMax band. I had been using the same antenna for 1.9GHz EVDO.

Looks like stability and awesome speeds have been going down hill past 2 months. And I lost connection for near 30 minutes earlier. On the Clear site they can't even detect my moden to check status info. LOL

Gone from being worse by the month to worse by the hour. If they don't resolve this soon. Verizon wireless hotspot will replace this crap.

Hoping maybe they were working on the tower lately. Tonight is OK.

Yep looking better. So hopefully they were working on something or saw my past and fixed the issue.
