$$ PAY FOR HELP ~ UTstarcom iAN-02EX troubleshooting

Hello
I will email money transfer $5 for help in solving this ANVEO UTstarcom iAN-02EX connection issue.
The unit works fine as I was just using Callcentric for 2 years.
Tech support for Anveo isnt good when it comes to your own device.
Thanks to anyone that helps me or even attempts.

The most important thing, you did not tell us!

WHAT is the problem?

"Connection Issue" is rather vague.

----------------------------------------------

Important:

If you had been using CallCentric and now are using Anveo, you may need to change "DNS SRV" from ENABLE to DISABLE.

----------------------------------------------

Here is the setup used for CallWithUs (CWU). Maybe something here will help you. Note, for Anveo you should not need Stun.

In other words, change [voip_sip_dnssrv=1] to [voip_sip_dnssrv=0].

SIP Registration Server/Proxy (USA): sip.anveo.com:5010
NEW SIP Registration Server/Proxy (Germany): sip.de.anveo.com:5010
NEW SIP Registration Server/Proxy (Canada): sip.ca.anveo.com:5010
Supported codecs: G.711 ulaw (PCMu), GSM
Protocol: UDP,
Additional information which might be helpful
Realm: anveo.com
Port: 5010

I was chatting last night and heres the text

20:46:32 Alan: do you know anything about what the udp port is
20:46:42 Anveo Support: both support DNS_SRV
20:46:58 Alan: i did. i spent 4 hours trying many things
20:47:01 Anveo Support: if DNS_SRV is used that port does not matter
20:47:22 Alan: ok so dns srv is to be enabled?
20:47:44 Anveo Support: if you enable DNS_SRV make sure you use anveo.com and NOT sip.anveo.com
20:48:19 Anveo Support: DNS_SRV record contains all information for ATA to locate Anveo SIP servers
20:49:04 Alan: ok for proxy, registrar just anveo.com with dns srv enabled
20:49:12 Anveo Support: correct
20:49:17 Alan: what about outbound proxy
20:49:25 Anveo Support: anveo.com
20:49:45 Alan: and the port is 5010 for all 3
20:49:59 Anveo Support: leave port empty
20:50:12 Anveo Support: port is only needed when dns_srv is not used
20:50:16 Alan: for all 3?
20:50:28 Anveo Support: yes
20:51:21 Alan: great. do you know anything about the udp port
20:52:39 Anveo Support: no, I do not know what needs to be there
20:52:47 Anveo Support: maybe it is your local port
20:53:23 Alan: SIP NAT keep alive? enable or disable
20:53:52 Anveo Support: set to enable,, it will not hurt
20:54:31 Alan: do you know anything about the VOIP STUN

20:55:04 Anveo Support: Stun is not required.

Confirm that voip_user_user0_username matches your Anveo Account Number (mine is 10 digits).
Try setting voip_user_user0_loginid to match what is in voip_user_user0_username .
Note that voip_user_user0_password is not your password on the Anveo web site -- get it from the SIP Device Registration page. Copy/paste into your config to be sure that there is not a typo.

If no luck, confirm that your Anveo account works with a softphone or other device.

If still no luck, capture traffic or use whatever debug features are available on the device, to see what is actually going wrong.

I got it to work with the same settings i had tried who knows how many times. This same merry go'round process happened with Callcentric.
Ive posted my SIP page in case in could help others in the future.
Considering the features Anveo has, there will be many new users.

I would like to add some info for future users about other tabs in the starcom set up.
Under WAN IP, its DHCP.
Device mode is Gateway.
Under VOIP User enter user name, password and for Display name enter your name. For UDP port I put 5010.

the main issue may come from something stupid like unplugging the device for a minute and then plugging it back in but I'm not sure.

I made some comment previously in this forum about the customer support and service. First and foremost I'd like to make very clear that Anveo has more features than any VOIP company I have seen out there. It's jaw dropping.

"In my opinion" considering all the features they offer and having to set up and easy to read help file for the mom and pop user would seem to be obviously difficult. They may have focused on features and strength in starting this company but now they have time to focus on the mom and pop how-to section.

Thanks to everyone on this forum including Stewart for the very quick help, under 24 hours.

Thanks again
Alan

If you get issues you could change Expires to 60 and SIP NAT Keep Alive to Enable.

Also, as you are in Canada you could use sip.ca.anveo.com. Montreal should be closer to you than Dallas.

Anveo is a business provider who also welcome residential users. But IMO "the mom and pop how-to section" would be difficult with so many business features. The consumer features section is quite comprehensive for consumer users.
