 | reply to james78 lag such as where my character seems like he is moving until for a few seconds he is moved back to his previous location, or vise versa im moving my character and he teleports it seems across the map. I am running a wired connection this happens for both wireless and wired connections. this lag happens on my xbox 360 console when playing gears of war 3. note on the lag this only happens for a few seconds but it happens in every game I play. Note I am using a 100 ft ethernet cable cord but I tested this out against a 10 ft cable cord and same amount of lag. as for server I'm not tech savvy so please explain. |

That said what is your NAT status on the Xbox? |
 | reply to james78 it is open. |
 | reply to james78 well the testing the xbox 360 connection I get no problems the NAT is open it says. |
 | reply to james78 whoa actually after having the network settings go back to default it says I have a strict nat on my xbox 360. can you please check the ports Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) Port 53 (UDP and TCP) Port 80 (TCP) for me also I signed into my gateway and found a firewall enable could this be causing lag? |
BHNtechXpertBHN StaffPremium,VIP join:2006-02-16 Saint Petersburg, FL kudos:82 | reply to james78 I can't check ports from here. You do need to resolve the strict NAT issue for best performance. This sounds to me like more of the same issues that are already known to be a problem with this game since it's release. This is a common complaint regardless if your provider. |
 | reply to james78 but what about the firewall |
BHNtechXpertBHN StaffPremium,VIP join:2006-02-16 Saint Petersburg, FL kudos:82 | reply to james78 What about the firewall? Leave it enabled and punch holes through it for your xbox using port forwarding. |
 | reply to james78 got it! the game is running much smoother turns out all i had to do make it run nice was for the Xbox ip address to match the DMZ host at my gateway. |
