Re: Gaming Mouse The G500 doesn't have a 'rubber like' grip, but does have a (very smooth) sandpaper-like(?) texture along the sides. You really have to feel it for yourself to see if its suitable - some hate it, personally, its another feature I like. |

Also another nice wireless gaming mouse is the Cybor R.A.T. 9. Although this one is pretty pricey. »www.amazon.com/Cyborg-T-Wireless···3&sr=8-5 -- Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit / Core i5 - 760 / GTX 460 1GB SLI / 8GB DDR3 RAM / Vertex 2 120GB SSD |

| I've seen the R.A.T. hyped by a lot of reviewers and drooling fans, but very few people who have actually used it.
Just to be clear, are you recommending based on personal experience? Is it everything that is claimed? -- If we lose this freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment, those who had the most to lose, did the least to prevent its happening. |

Willies13Premium join:2009-09-28 Montpelier, OH | reply to Krisnatharok I own one and use it (Rat9) exclusively . Best mouse I have ever owned . Has weights and an extra battery . Don't believe these people about lag time . There is none with Rat 9 . The pinky rest is the best . You can custom the mouse to fit your hand and style of grip . |

 | reply to htc rules I used the MX518 for a few years and loved it. My wife as well as my friend. We all went through a few of them. We all decided to upgrade after doing some research to the G9X and love it. Wife went with the RAT7 and is envious. Works perfect for me. My gaming has improved big time. Love that you can track the DPI, change the colors of the LED, change the weight and the grip. Best mouse I have used.
Yesterday I was helping my son with his PC. He is using my old MX518. It felt so weird holding it now. I love the G9X and would not go back to the MX518.
When it comes to gaming, I would not go wireless for anything i.e. internet connection, mouse, keyboard. Maybe just the headphones. |

| Issues with a mouse lagging over wireless is a thing of the past. I use the G700 and there is no lag at all. One common mistake that people make is putting their mouse receivers too far away, giving more room for interference. Luckily the G700 comes with an extension, so you can put the receiver right by your mouse pad.(Personally I just plug the receiver into my keyboard) On the G700 you can turn the polling rate all the way up to 1000/s. -- Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit / Core i5 - 760 / GTX 460 1GB SLI / 8GB DDR3 RAM / Vertex 2 120GB SSD |

1 edit | I dont have personal experiance with the G700 but from what I read, I do hear of some issues with lag. Not sure of how big though and what contributes to it.
Another reason I dont like wireless for gaming is the weight and size as well as changing batteries or recharging. Just my two cents. |

I have had this mouse well over 5 years and it's never missed a click. The thumb buttons are well located and the mouse itself is ergonomic. And, of course, it's corded. I refuse to game with wireless mice.

Just to add they also disabled angle snapping (which helps draw straight lines automatically) in the newer G400s.
I think that was the biggest compliant for the MX518. The G400 improves an almost perfect product into perfection. |

Never heard of it and I'm curious how it affects the MX518... Pretty good read up on it. If you haven't noticed it before, it may not be a big deal to you. However, for really competitive gamers even small things like this matter.

| Aaah ok, so auto-correction/prediction.
Looks like it was taken out of the G400 half-way through a lot run.
»forums.logitech.com/t5/G-series-···p/763727
As per the Logitech reps on the forum:
Angle snapping was removed as of PID LZ13333. Lower PIDs have angle snapping.
There is no way to specify in online orders which version you are going to get. As time goes on, it is more likely that you will receive a non-angle-snapping version as stock of the older version is depleted.
In retail stores, you can tell the difference between the older and newer versions by the package's transparent closure labels; G400s without angle snapping have the Logitech logo printed on these labels. G400s with angle snapping have no printing on these labels.
