FifthE1ement posted : I had the same issue as I had a 25% discount on two phones and now that the discount only applies to the first line I called and canceled the other line. They argued for a minute or two but once I said they broke my contract by even raising the price by a penny they gave in and let me out of the second phone contract even with another year plus on the contract. I also had multiple complaints in which I called to complain about coverage, speed, and service. They sent me an Airvana which only works in my house and doesn't help when I'm out. I'm only with Sprint now because of unlimited internet on my EVO but if they drop that I drop them. If they go to caps or overages I could get better service with a cap from Verizon and that is what I will do if they change. I used to want to switch back to MetroPCS but they raised their prices and are now $7- for unlimited internet, etc... Whoever says the wireless market is full of competition is full of sh!t, lol! :p

5th
--
"The relationship between what we see and what we know is never settled..."

da_king posted : So you are the type who lays down every time a provider expects you to come out of pocket to enhance or other wise make there product work better than advertised and expect not to get compensated? well i don't and it works for me. I shake my head every time someone comes into to my shop after they just spent $75,999 on a Mercedes and has to spend another $500.00 on a Bluetooth module just make hands free phone calls wow they could not have thrown that in. my point is that in my situation they saw it fit to put me month to month instead of loosing 5 phones

AuraReturn posted : Call Spring and complain until you get off the hook.

This is how I got off the hook too.

Hehehe..

quote:
Find an alternative. Having ammunition as to what contract you are going to switch to will give you confidence and strength to go through with the painful process of getting out of your contract.
2
Be a squeaky wheel. Say you want out because the service isn't up to par. (And really, is it?) Then back that up by filing official complaints online with the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau. However, if you have no grounds for complaint, then these steps will not help you.
3
Get a lemon. Get a known problematic phone, complain 3 times, be let out of a contract due to your local lemon law. However, most carriers and manufacturers warranty their phones for one year and will offer alternatives if you continue to have problems.
4
Try a market-based fix. Some companies such as CellPlanDepot.comand ContractExchange.com.au match unhappy mobile customers with people who'd like to sign up, at a discount of course. Some of these sites are free and others charge a nominal fee.
5
Look for your provider to bury changes to Terms of Service with your bill. Quite often providers modify their service plans, much of the time the modification is a benefit. It doesn't matter, this voids the previous contract. Read the small print on those inserts included with your bill, it will spell out that you have 30 days (may vary on where you live) to cancel your contract with no charge simply because they changed the contract.

Get off the grid. If you move and cannot get the same level of service as your previous location, tell your service provider. They're not legally required to cut you loose, but frustrated consumers have reported success. T-Mobile's and AT&T's is to waive the Early Termination Fee if you do not have service in your area. This step may have to be verified with their engineers.
Join the army. If you are a member of the US Armed Services and you receive orders to somewhere the company doesn't provide service they are obligated to cancel your contract free of charge. Keep in mind, you'll have to provide a copy of your official orders. Your base legal office should be able to provide you with free assistance in working with the company. Most carriers will offer a military suspension option as well.

Network Guy posted : My original service agreement with Sprint was for $129.99 per month for lines 1 and 2, and $19.99 per month for line 3, with a 25% discount through my employer totaling $32.50. Today I received an e-bill from Sprint stating that I'm now being charged $110 per month for line 1, and $19.99 per month for lines 2 and 3 each, with a 25% discount through my employer totaling $27.50.

While $129.99 + $19.99 still equals the same $110 + $19.99 + $19.99 = $149.98 before taxes, that's an extra $5 per month now that Sprint is "enhancing my bill." Here's the silly conversation from Sprint:

quote:
Rosemary G.: Thank you for contacting Sprint. I am happy to help you. Now we are being charged $110 for line 1, plus $19.99 for lines 2 and 3 each
Rosemary G.: We've enhanced your bill as part of this change. You will begin seeing all your lines of service with their associated monthly recurring cost listed separately. This allows you to see the cost of each line.
Rosemary G.: Earlier it was $129.99 for two lines. Now it is showing as follow:
You: Enhanced?
