Nothing in the call indicates MOP will come out before September of this year. D3 was pushed back to Q2, and HOTS was pushed back to 2013.
Remember these are the same people that said D3 would be out in "early 2012". So if early 2012 means Q2 then "soon" can mean almost anything. |

as long as D3 and GW2 aren't released at the same time I'll be happy. I plan on playing both and I hate being torn between 2 games. As Blizzard always says "It will release when it's done". I have no problem with that. Only downfall I see in D3 right now is its aged graphics. WTF Blizz |

And that's the problem. It's not the first time anymore. People aren't expecting the exact same mechanics pasted onto a slightly (but not much) better engine.
They want new stuff--innovation, hybridized genres, etc., or else cutting edge graphics to distract them from the otherwise boring gameplay.
It's a bad sign when most people get bored--not by the content, but by the mechanics--in the first 15 minutes of beta testing.

| Dungeon crawler, click-fest games like the Diablo series are what they are.
Torchlight gained quite a bit of popularity and that game did NOTHING for mechanics that D2 didn't have. There were features, like the pet, that worked out well.
Bottom line is that D3 will be wildly successful as it's a Blizzard title and it's going to be the next D2. Whether or not we as adults have grown out of the genre is waiting to be seen.

| I also think that Blizz is going to be printing money based on the popularity of D2 combined with the less tarnished image of computer gaming as it is now compared to what it was when d2 came out. Much progress has been made and the larger pool of buyers means mucho dinero for blizzard. |
