Youtube does not work with uverse.

I just switched to uverse from Comcast. I have the 18Mbps service tier but I cant seem to get a youtube video to load without buffering every few mins. I dont have tv service, I have the 32/4 profile, my signals are perfect, and I am watching with a wired computer. Has this been happening to others recently?

When I connect via a VPN it all works perfectly.

I think YouTube is having issues, me and a few of my friends, with different ISP's and in different states were all having the same problem. It isn't a consistent issue for me, but when it does start loading, and then stop buffering halfway through I just reload the page and it loads fine.

Youtube has lately been doing fine for me, it has been horrible in the past though. Also it depends on what video's you click on, for me it buffers 720P video's the quickest, and certain channels it will buffer 1080P video's very fast too. Comcast is pretty much the same results for me.

It's more than likely just YouTube fail, but it wouldn't hurt to clear all the browser cookies and cache just to rule out latency that could be caused from old DNS fast caching from when you had Comcast.

Youtube Frost Over the World 720p seems to be loading at full speed right now. I have noticed that some videos work better then others.

Fail, YouTube runs fine for me on 18/1.5.

But I've noticed that some 3801HGVs tend to slow the ethernet connections to 1mbps/1mbps while wireless is flawless. Its probably some firmware issue that needs to be updated. If you're having wireless problems go to your 2wire/pace config page and change to a channel that has less interference. Use inSSIDer application you can download on the interwebs to see what channels other routers in the neighborhood are using. Hopefully this helps.

I had a terrible time with YouTube on U-Verse. I could never play 1080p video in real time, and 720p was iffy. I assumed it was Youtube's problem since I was able to get my full 24mbps speeds from other places.

But, with Time Warner, 1080p works great. Maybe AT&T has weak peering with YouTube in some areas.

if at&t has weak peering with youtube then that simply means at&t is throttleing youtube.

Youtube runs crappy for me sometimes too - lots of buffers. 15/2 Time Warner connection.

I'm still having problems watching youtube. This is very frustrating because it happens with 360p videos also.

I'm having the same problem (18MB profile). Reset the gateway and that seemed to help for a bit, but the next day had slow download/buffering again.

I also have problems with youtube videos buffering. A lot of people say its youtube and not AT&T and I used to believe that, but now I'm not so convinced. Hardly any of my friends from work experience the same issues that I see, even when we watch the same videos at the same times. All of them are on TW, I'm on AT&T.

I'm starting to think it is AT&T also. It always works perfectly on everything other internet connection I use. I can even even VPN into my data center a few miles away using my uverse connection and it will download using my entire 18Mbps.

Do you have the buffering issue with any other video sites or just youtube?

It has been happening for months. Since it is only youtube, I have assumed also that it is a youtube problem...but If I goto www.youtube.com/my_videos it gives me a good comparison graph of my speed, my isp speed, and a competitor isp speed.

Although Charter (Cable) is not superb...it blows Uverses average speed out of the water...which is only slightly above my speed. Since Uverse refuses to do anything about this...and since they just upped their rates...and Charter cable has a new max rate of 100 MB...im outta here. Uverse has hit their speed limit while Cable looks to have a bright future again. Telephone companies are so obsessed with the quick profits of wireless that they have said "screw you" to their wired line internet customers.

I only have these issues with Youtube. I don't have the issue when using a VPN.

Edit: Just watched a short clip on Youtube at 360p resolution, It kept buffering every 20 seconds

If you're having issues with only youtube, I'd imagine it's a youtube problem. I've checked the youtube help forums, and many people are experiencing the same issue.
