Radio Mobile Backhaul

Hello,

Can someone with radio mobile expertise please help me out. I am wanting to know if I can backhaul

From:

lat: 35.538853 long:-87.531724 (this is where my fiber is: 5GHz antenna @ 150 feet on a water tower)

To:

lat:35.537398 long:-87.315087 (this is where I want to build tower. I am thinking of building 60 to 100 ft tower, depending on what I need.)

Thanks for any help in advance!

I'll say maybe. How tall are the trees in that path? At best you've got about 60 feet from 60% of the first fresnel. With a bullet M5 at 25 dBm and 27 dBi dishes there's not much fade margin at -68.

Jim,

Thanks so much for your help. The tallest trees get around here, I would estimate at 60 foot, and that would be very uncommon. The normal tree height is around 40 foot.

You're welcome!

You can do this yourself next time very easily. Just go to www.ligowave.com/linkcalc and set up a free account. Pop in your coordinates and wait a few seconds for the outcome.

I haven't found the time to use Radio Mobile, but ligowave has worked for me so far, and it's very easy to use.

Jim,

Thank you very much for the information! I would say the absolute tallest tree around this area could be about 60 ft. Average tree is 40 to 50 feet.

Terrain profile. The view is like a side angle, allowing you to see the elevation changes between tower sites.
