help with pfsense and DCM475

I recently got cable internet with Electronic Box.

I have:
-DCM475 modem
-pfsense box
-8 port gigabit switch

I'm trying to do:

DCM475 -- > pfsense box(DHCP) -- > gigabit switch

Is this possible? I can't login to the DCM475 to do any configurations. In pfsense, I have no clue what to do. When I use the setup manager to configure it as DHCP, the WAN interface shows me 0.0.0.0 for the ip address. When I try to change the LAN interface to DHCP, it says I must set the WAN interface to static first, but I'm only have a dynamic IP address. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

You'll want a DHCP client on the WAN side and a DHCP server on the LAN side. I see absolutely no reason why it wouldn't work. I currently do something very similar to this (with Linux, not BSD).
