Re: When Dell has the Days of deals, remember what this goes for

said by Wolfie00:

Well, that didn't last long -- a few hours later and it's $319 now!

Wow. That was quick. I had to call Dell back when I got home tonight and confirm my info since I was ordering from work on the phone. Stupid proxy server.

The link you posted contains an amazing monitor option called "no monitor"! Anyway, monitors within the IPS line vary in quality and features from one model to another. I don't remember ever seeing an IPS monitor as part of a bundled package, either.

$249 was a better price.

I often wonder when the U-series displays aren't on sale.

It has been on and off sale since Christmas for about that same price. I jumped when it went $50 less for what turned out to be only part of the day. Dell made a mistake?

That's still a good price. When I got mine for $279 in December, it was the lowest price I'd seen up to that point, and still would be, had it not been for the weird $249 offer that only lasted a few hours.

I'm really enjoying mine. The U2410 has a wider colour gamut but is an older design, with CCFL backlighting, and MUCH more expensive, so the U2412M is a really nice cost/price package.

It seems so big. (That's what my wife said )

Compared to my 19 inch HP, this is huge. It is excellent for photo editing, I have been trying it out.

Now, do get dual display going for my Mac.

It is so much better to edit photos. Even if it was not IPS, just the size makes a difference.

Once you get used to your IPS display, you'll never go back to a TN and be satisfied with the colour. You're all ruined now

So being sick yesterday, I used it for maybe 10 minutes. I am lucky, I have a 4 port DVI KVM (USB and audio switching as well) and I was not sure it would support the native resolution of this monitor but it does.

1920x1200 is the limit for Single-Link DVI, and most devices can support if it they support DVI.

The manual says it only supports 1600x1200. It works so I do not care.
