The only pain is the 2 character cap on each server for F2P as it makes it a bit harder to try out the different classes and races. Nice graphics, quest mobs respawn quickly, and the storyline is decent[so far as have only gotten 1 toon off newbie island at the moment]. Plan to solo a few toons to max on PvE so can learn the in and outs before rerolling on a PvP server. Would say that it is definitely worth checking out as there is no charge and you are not out anything, except time, if you find you do not like it.

Packeteers posted : don't let my bitching about the game economy scare you - sure it's worth playing, just don't expect to get top gear as quickly as you hit 60. i'm a healer so pvP gear was not as critical to pvP as it may be to a damage dealer. also, they nerfed reflect damage around the time i went t14, so the one modifier i had benefited the most on my t13 pvP gear did not matter anymore. :huh: also conjunct gear was improved and is now considered a great pvp/pve hybrid set, so it's your most affordable option if you are in a guild that can help you get all the parts together.

I'm just so glad i geared up before F2P started... the high end gear economy is crazy now with in game gold nearly worthless, and masterwork luck was not improved along with enchanting, so once you hit +9 it can be a long time before you can afford to get your gear any higher. fortunately a skilled player can do pretty much anything in this game with only +9all t14 gear.

Packeteers posted : i play part time on the old pvP Mount Tyranus server, so you are probably better off on VoT, the new pvp server. now that my mystic is 162 there is not much challenge left for me in this game, and grinding another class holds little appeal to me. i should be getting a new graphics card soon, so seeing all the eye candy for the first time may inspire me to play more... i'll keep you posted.

cash shop items they added to make leveling more efficient include one hour buffs that give you: 2x XP, 2x Gold Drops, 2x Quest Gold Earn, 2x Reputation Earned. Elite players who are still paying the Monthly subscription, get one hour of each buff each day for free, so i usually use mine while doing daily quests. they also added a "world atlas" which makes teleporting between cities and towns a lot faster with no cooldown between moves - again this item is free for Elites, but can be purchases from the cash shop for non subscribers.

this is what i mean when i say cash shop items make your game play more "efficient".

i may get a race change scroll when the price comes down in a few weeks - after looking at the same race backside for the past 7 months, it would be nice to look at something new while playing ;)

while many cash shop items make play more efficient,
no item makes any character stronger over another.

the only downside i see to the cash shop is it adds
a lot of trade spam, since players are reluctant to
buy and broker these items till they get buy offers.
i would not pay more than 1g per EMP for items already
in game, or 1.5g per EMP for unique to cash shop stuff.

double drop weekend starts at Noon today PST.
it only doubles instance dungeon boss drops.
post update egg thief mobs have been removed.
remember, Nexus times are 12pm and 7pm PST

I will give it a shot. But no guarantees. Path of Exile and GW2 have both earned "must play" status for me. Earning my game time will be difficult... but I will give Tera a go around again at least for a bit and see what happens!

players are so funny... someone bought ALL the gold t14 weapon fodder before the update, and is trying to sell it back into the market at double it's old price - good luck with that :uhh: anyone returning to game may want to give the market a few days for the economy to settle down - things could get temporarily weird with this new normal.

FYI: i got my weapon from +6 to +12 with only 40 gold fodder, which by prepatch standards is VERY lucky...

returning 60's should visit Allemantheia - there's a new set of quests waiting for you there.

reason for the long downtown is to restructure the databases
to accommodate the 3 bank capacity type of player accounts,

The timing of the enchanting luck change is great for me, as
i have my fodder and powder save up to +12 my regent weapon.

I hate to say it, but many of these changes were LONG overdue.
players have been complaining since game launch on some of them.

100-200 times - till i get my own 6% neck... that will be lovely :huh:

a 3v3 pvP BG, and at least one new instance dungeon will be added.
Spellbind(green powder) and MW Alkahest(pink powder)
may be removed from NPC and will only come from RNG drops.
this is also unconfirmed but very likely. i would not recommend
stocking up on powder beyond your own near future needs, as it's
likely both powder will drop increase enough for the price to stabilize.

if you have over 2,000g on your character, and wish to add
a Month sub time for Elite status, you can open a support ticket,
ask for a Month to be added and 2,000g in payment to be deducted.
this is being done manually in place of (temporarially removed) chronoscrolls.

yeah didn't realize you were already 37, our best bet at this point for leveling together would be WvW... but it's definitely slower than normal PvE

i'll try to catch up with crafting

once you hit 68-69 you can go to the ORR zones, and with rapid cycling events you can go 68-80 in like one session

Packeteers posted : you probably have a rename scroll in your game mail. when the servers merged back in november, higher level actives got priority over lower level dorment players - it's just tough luck, sorry. i even lost a name i took in prelaunch because i only got it to level 13, while someone on another server months later took that same name to 60. the best way to find out if a name is still taken is to use character creation and try each name you want on a new level 0, then delete that character and the name will be released for use within a minute, and you can then get it through your rename scroll on the higher level avatar you wanted it for. i'm not sure how the rename scroll resets if the names you try are already taken, but i guess you could try it that way too - i just don't like to risk it as i like trying a lot of different names to see which are still free, then pick amoung them. if you use the rename scroll, the moment you try a name that's free you are now stuck with it.
