Conclusion: to use the TV service at another location today, that location must have: a VDSL FTTN port onsite, even if it is just internet. a modem with the IPTV pppoe login. an STB that is activated.
I suspect over time this will get locked down. Cert and mac authentication, per-port custom provisioning and ACLs, etc. Perhaps even tying the STBs loading of keys to the support servers in a specific CO.
reply to ssherwood I didn't know they kept the TV password for themselves. That's really all they need to do to prevent account sharing.
