7500 WEP works but no WPA

Finally got highspeed available in a rural area, dsl via Frontier in Michigan.

Hooked it up today and was going through the router settings. They setup WEP as the default so I switched to WPA and it won't acquire a key.

I tried multiple combinations of WPA, WPA2, WPA ANY, tkip, aes, tkip+aes, etc...

I tried both wireless utilities on my dell laptop and I tried it on my 360. One of the laptop utilities gives you a good bit of info and it would show aes or tkip key ; absent.

WEP works just fine.

Does the laptop "see" the westell wifi signal

Yes all the devices see and connect to the 7500. I think the laptop even got a ip but never got a aes or tkip key so it wouldn't connect to the internet. I also couldn't access the router while it did this. I had to connect via a network cable to change the settings.

Are you sure the laptop has support for wpa/wpa2

Yes, the xbox too. I used wpa with my wireless router at my last house where I had cable.

If you still have the wireless router it can be reconfigured and used as a access point

I've considered that option but would prefer not to run 2 devices when the one should be able to handle it.
