yoyomhz join:2003-02-15 Beverly Hills, CA | What would you do with a cheapToshiba laptop? I bought a dirt cheap Toshiba L35 laptop a few years ago. It came with a lot of crap which I tried to remove but probably never did a good job, and it probably has some viruses too.
Would you put a new install of XP? or would you try Windows 7?
Or would you order the Vista restore disc from Toshiba and reinstall Vista?
(the compuer is cheap) |

That's all I'd install, it's an antique from 2005! -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake....... |

I'd either put XP on it, or something lighter like Lubuntu 11.10. -- Developer: Tomato/MLPPP, Linux/MLPPP, etc »fixppp.org |

 | reply to yoyomhz +1 for what Guspaz said.
Reinstall a fresh install of XP on it and install Ubuntu as a dual boot. |

 | reply to yoyomhz I got for free... 3 Toshiba Toughbook CF-M34 laptops that they were throwing out at work. I don't have all the passwords; and they can't boot from an external USB source.
On the weekend, the hard drives are coming out and are going to have an intimate relationship with a 6 lb sledgehammer. Next week the remains will be dropped off at a recycle depot.
Or... Maybe I'll keep one as a doorstop. |
