 | [Connectivity] FYI: New Firmware on SBG6580 - no drops! Hey guys,
Not sure when it happened, but sometime in the past week, my SBG6580 wireless gateway was FINALLY updated by Comcast. Before it was running 3.1.0, and is now currently running version 3.3.1.0-GA-09-058-NOSH.
From what I understand this isn't totally up to date (there's supposed to be a 3.4.x out there), but, the twice-daily dropouts have completely stopped since at least Tuesday.
Finally my SBG6580 gateway is stable! |

 | I was having some connectivity issues myself with SBG6580 modem. You said Comcast updated the some of the customer modems, how can I verify this on my unit?
Your inputs are appreciated. |

 | Yeah, I have been but still no help. |

 | reply to scaredpoet Finally! Version 3.3.1 is uploaded and so far so good. Stay tuned! |

 | reply to scaredpoet I just provisioned a SBG6580 for a comcast customer on the 105Mb tier .... they macced it, it restarted.... they auto pushed 3.3.1... and it pulled down 100+ Mb first try over the 5ghz band no problem....
I would add that the modem was brand new, on 3.1.0, but had firewall enabled with all options including ip flood protect disabled...
so it looks like finally all systems go on the SBG6580 with Comcast.... |

 | Yeah, I'm back on 3.1.0 and the twice-daily drops have returned. UGH! It's frustrating that for once we have pretty solid evidence that the gateway can be a good network device given the right firmware.
I'm wondering what "compatibility issues" there were? I certainly didn't see any. |
