HVAC Any thoughts on Amprobe ACD-14+ and CDN sources?

Just wanted to hear from the guys in the trade what they thought of the particular unit (even if you just looked over the specs) and also if anyone knows of any sources that might sell locally in the GTA? Thanks in advance to everyone who posts

I don't have one but recently read about it. I believe its new, so there may not be a lot of commenting on it. I will tell you, it looks really sweet. Something I would like to have, especially because of these features:

Dual displays – simultaneous reading of amperage and voltage
True-rms
Frequency measurement
In rush current measurement

I would have to look into the sample time to see if that last one is any good. And yes, it reads temperature with a thermocouple probe, no different than just about any multimeter. From the specs, it seems that its sampling time is anything 25 ms or greater. That is longer than 1/2 cycle. The inrush function is not going to be that accurate.

For an HVAC/etc meter, I love my Fieldpiece. Highly recommend them. I have an SC45 and an SC76. Both have taken a lot of abuse, and keep runnin well.

I have been running tight on time, so I looked at other options. Pricing out an SC56 and 77, should hear back on Monday. Depending on how soon they can get one in, I'm not excluding them by any means, but thanks for the heads up. Worst case scenario, I can get half-decent pricing on UEI stuff.

I've got the SC77. The backlight is handy.
