First off, our DVR is set to delete manually only. My wife just finished watching a show from the list of our saved shows. It was about 45% full so about 20-25 shows were on the saved list from today to about 2 weeks ago. She opened the list to start another show and now our entire list is empty except for 3 shows recorded today. Have already hard booted and still nothing. Anyone else have an issue like this? If so what was the result? Thanks...
Make and model DVR would be a great place to start And you are absolutely sure it was set to delete manually and nobody accidently changed that setting, realized what they did and changed it back? Of course that would be too late but it happens.
Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 Just checked the settings for individual shows. Says they are set to delete when space is needed. But like I said in the original post, it was only 45% full. I had this thing up to 60ish before and had no problems. The shows that were deleted ranged from early January to the 9th of this month. Everything that was on the list for Friday remained there.
reply to Norman BUT if for any reason the device thinks its out of storage it will start erasing them. That's an older unit and hard drives fail. I'm not making excuses but...for whatever reason it may have thought it had less space than it does. It might be time to trade that baby in on something a little more current.
