Those filters are still updated.
Fanboy's filters are also quite nice.

1 edit | Both filter sets are not recommend. As it may conflicted with each other filter set. As for fanboy's filer set, sometimes it blocks objects that should not be blocked. This is why i have dumped fanboy's filter set for good. |

I have no issues running both filters as well as some of my own I have made.
I do see you are referring to Fanboys Ad Filters which is not what I have installed. Fanboy's object Dimensions, Tracking, Adult Site filters are installed along with the Easy List & Easy Privacy.
The only thing I have done to any of those filters is disable the whitelisting which has cropped up in the last month or so.

May I recommend Adversity lists. They just have two now, but they are great. They are smaller than the other lists and only English is supported. Because of their size they are slightly faster.

Does seem a little snappier with those instead of Easy List.
