| [AZ] You know COX is really a good ISP You know for the many years I have been a member here and actually complained about Cox Customers Service in the past they are actually the best thing in the US.
OK no bashing please. I have used Cox since 2005 and have been on line 99.999% of the time. I use/online at home probably 16-18 hrs a day. Yes it is a few bucks more than the others but it is dependable and I for one have no complaints. The Cox Reps here on line are just one of the nice touches they provide us but it seems that we only hear from the troubled one. Don't get me wrong I'm sure they are issues out there but all in all I think that COX does give us a service and value for out internet access.
No I do not work for COX nor own any stock or shares in the company. LOL
I'm just a joe blow who wanted to say that COX all in all is a great ISP.
Thank you and I will step down from my soap box. |

| said by jsimmons:No complaints here either. Fast and dependable, can't remember the last outage. Well in no way do I hate cox as a company, and what they provide. I have had many of issue's with there internet service, but thanks to the cox guys helping on here. They have always taken the time to get my issue's looked into and fixed, so that beats the hell out of having to call customer support. For them to want to send a tech visit to fix something they have no control over. The two things I wish was an option with cox, was offer better sports options, which we know Directv is the main option for that. Which I use Directv for my tv services only because of being a NFL fan, and needing NFL sunday ticket. Also faster upload speeds, and cox is working on upstream bonding which will help increase upload speeds.
The biggest issue most people run into, and this is with most companys. There customer support lacks, because not everyone has simple issue's that a CS rep can help with nor a standard cox tech sent to your place. So its really about having better support people who can help with the more difficult issue's and have these issue's looked into faster. Which should be even easier with all the options to communicate threw the internet these days. So its nice to see the few cox people on here use there free time to help customers out. |

| reply to Iggy_AZ Cox has been great for me as well, they have been really fast to fix most problems. Granted they do have some issues with employees, but those issues are the same at other companies.
My issue is with their sub contractors, nothing but problems with them...they are unbelievable. -- »FreeDNS.afraid.org - Free DNS dynamic DNS subdomain and domain hosting |

| I know, they raised prices on Internet twice this year, only one of those was preceded with the usual speed hike, so the price hike that followed was expected. -- »FreeDNS.afraid.org - Free DNS dynamic DNS subdomain and domain hosting |

ximage join:2001-07-10 Chula Vista, CA | reply to Iggy_AZ yup the internet part is great but the tv price is just way too much. I just had to cut it this month since the dvr/box fee is way out of control. |

Rob_Premium join:2008-07-16 Mary Esther, FL | Well, when they lose TV subscribers, they will know why.. were broke and can't afford it |
|
 | reply to ximage Having had comcast, timewarner, etc, cox is actually pretty decent...I feel lucky to live in an area they service...if you look at the customer rankings every year they are usually towards the top...i think one of the reasons is they aren't publicly owned so they dont have to answer to stock holders..
agreed their tv is so expensive now, tho..esp if you want HD, DVR, etc. I cut the cord a few months ago...Just have my $50 roku, netlflix, hulu, torrents and OTA and saving probably $100/month at least. Only thing i miss is live sports, the crappy internet streams are horrible. Also the internet keeps going up, too...but at least, for me, its always been fast, worked great, etc. and i guess you can always downgrade plans if you want... |

cvv01Premium join:2011-11-16 Lake Forest, CA | reply to Iggy_AZ Only real complaint is with their bandwidth caps. I've since avoided that problem by switching to COX business, no caps and no price increases for 3 years. On the Rez side,it's BS COX is willing to sell you a Ferrari of Internet connections, but then limit you to one tank of gas per month. Aside from that, no huge complaints. Internet works well. D3 FTW! |

Optimus2357Premium join:2010-11-21 West Warwick, RI kudos:1 | reply to Iggy_AZ Yeaaaa, I like this thread. One of the reasons I stopped reading/posting as much as I did is it became such a downer.
Anyway, I have been a Cox internet subscriber since they started offering it here in RI some time ago. I remember in college the place you would go hang out and "study" would be the friends with this new thing called broadband. I remember listening to streaming music on Ravelinks for the first time and being in heaven. Then when D3 was launched for the first time I remember getting Ultimate type speeds for Preferred prices. They could have fixed that glitch early on, but they let it go on for a good year or more, and thats pretty cool in my book. |

 | reply to Iggy_AZ Why is there a random pro-cox thread in a support forum? No one needs support to praise a company whose product works... Just saying, it accomplishes nothing. |
|
 | It accomplishes about as much as random trashing threads. We allow those, too. |
|
 | Trashing indicates theres a problem that needs fixing/support
EDIT:
P.S. You know you lulzed when I brought up the shenanigans behind the jury opt-out in the ToS. |
|
 | I'll have you know I've never lulzed in my entire life. |

Optimus2357Premium join:2010-11-21 West Warwick, RI kudos:1 | reply to DrThodt I personally believe the amount of "trashing" is disproportional to the amount of actual problems within Cox's control. So a thread like this restores the balance within the Internet Force.
But honestly, I was mostly just reminiscing. |

 | reply to Iggy_AZ I'm a satisfied customer of Cox as well. I've been with them ever since I moved to Las Vegas 8 years ago. Speed and customer support quality seems to have steadily increased, especially in the last 2-3 years. |

 | reply to Iggy_AZ I also agree and have had much luck with Cox. Sure, I've had my problems but they've always worked it out. The only gripe I've had the last few years is the lack of communication. It seems information doesn't trickle down like it use to but I guess that could be as much my fault as theirs since I don't spend too much time on Cox's website looking for info either. |
