NetTalk starts local number portability

NetTalk has started porting in numbers in many US areas.

This should enhance their competitiveness with MagicJerk and Ooma, and porting is free during this introductory period.

However, NetTalk still needs to significantly improve its availability of US numbers in general....

That's quite cool. Now people can easily switch to netTALK using their existing number.

Besides porting, I found it interesting they are expanding their line of business to include nettalkTV - »www.nettalk.com/en/nettalktv and they do invite all to use their conference services - »www.nettalk.com/en/conference-calling

The free number porting facility is not convincing enough for anyone to switch to NetTalk right now. The reason is providers like Ooma, Axvoice etc. are already offering far better features at very competitve rates. NetTalk definitely looks like a good provider but I think they need a little time to get their service equal to giants of the industry.

Axvoice?!

If you look at site traffic compared to other providers, they are NOT any kind of significant player.
