| [PvP] PVP Limbo So I'm at the point where I get too frustrated doing random battlegrounds, because people aren't organized. My gear isn't quite up to par for rated battlegrounds. I usually pug a 2v2 arena partner, and it usually doesn't work out well because I take whatever I can get. I feel like Id be better off capping justice points to convert into honor.
In 4.3.2
what is the harder progression in your opinion, PvP or PVE? |

what is the harder progression in your opinion, PvP or PVE? You've pinpointed the one aspect that garners the most frustration in both PvE and PvP (so I hear, anyway)... the players.
With LFR, you can still get very well geared running with asshats. But you'll hit a wall, much like you have with random BGs, where you either have to find a group of people you enjoy runnin' with, or shift focus to an alt.
I know this post doesn't help except to let you know we all (PvE and PvP folk) face the "bang head on desk" monster. -- Immergruen (resto/kitty) on Nathrezim Server (US) Guild leader for Pride and Ego "You never truly know someone... until you fight them"

| reply to Maxxh Idk just seems like with the LFR is like free loot, i mean sure ppl are dbags, but it still seems to me like its easier to get into normal DS than it is to get into a rated bg with 3.5k resil. Idk maybe its cause I roll shadow, the redheaded stepchild of Rated PVP. |

We ran our first guild-ish (5/10) DS10 on saturday night. Even with the "free LFR loot" we struggled with zon'oz and yor'sajh. People who "free loot" LFR don't understand what's really happening, and thus the invisible ceiling in PvE. You may have to start your own rated BG group (who will fail hard at first) to get yourself reps/experience that will make you more attractive to better RBG teams. -- Immergruen (resto/kitty) on Nathrezim Server (US) Guild leader for Pride and Ego "You never truly know someone... until you fight them"

I've gotten my RBG rating to just under 2k.
But the MMR system is broken as shit, so I would suggest PvE if you are trying for real progression. -- Mcbrain, Goblin Shadow Priest, [Lock Down], Kil'Jaeden |

2v2 isn't balanced, no wonder why you're frustrated with PvP
do the weekend BG, and avoid unnecessary BG grinding... alt leveling on weekdays, weekend BG on weekend |

Also, find creative ways to deal with randoms when you play them. Stupid people don't realize they're stupid, so there's no reasoning with them. Random BG sucess is just that...random.
One of my favorites is AV, which we just finished this weekend. I have a macro text of instruction I use before we start. It used to be a quick strategy, but people would end up getting pissed and / or offended. So I changed it to:
Macro 1 - "OK, here's the plan. Everyone zerg north, kill Bal, then run in one huge group to the end. Then we'll all stare at each other while mouth breathers take turns trying to pull Van with 4 towers up and scream about crappy healers."
Macro 2 - "After the first death on our side, we all start complaining about how everyone else sucks and assign blame accordingly. And oooh yeah, some go absolutely EMO with CAPS ASAP!" |
