|
 | reply to Acct101 It's SoapNet rebranded as Disney Jr. Since we already have SoapNet we are not getting a new channel, a channel is just changing its name & programming. |

Is it even going to be an HD channel? EDIT: NVM I checked the source link. Verizon really ought to move all of the HD premium channels to MPEG4 feeds to free up space. Swapping boxes for the few Starz and HBO subscribers while retaining the old boxes for the rest of their customers can't be more expensive/time consuming then trying to get a full IPTV system off the ground. How will they even be able to do HD IPTV without MPEG 4? |

 | reply to Acct101 It's amazing how clueless Disney is. |

 | reply to matcarl said by matcarl:Disney XD is for 6-14 year olds, Disney Junior is more for pre-schoolers So they have Disney which is seemingly for 6-14 year old girls, XD which is for boys of the same age, and now Jr for preschoolers?
Do they really need that much differentiation?
I'm going to miss Soapnet. |

I've got a 4 year old, and the preschool-oriented shows end at 8am.
He's going to LOVE having Disney Junior. I'm happy for him. Much better than SoapNet, in my opinion (and my wife's, for that matter.) |

 | reply to Greg2600 OTOH, I don't know any women who watch SoapNet. |

| reply to Acct101 In my opinion, FiOS needs a good balance between sports and entertainment. BBCAmerica HD does have some really good programs produced in HD and we need to be able is view in HD, like Dr. Who, Top Gear etc. Comcast and other systems seen to be carrying BBCA in HD, so come on FiOS get on board. -- johnf2 |
