 | [Qwest] Centurylink / Qwest lowered train sync over night. Well for the past month after I got the "7Mb" upgrade I was able to train up to about 4-4.5 Mb and getting about 3.5 - 3.8Mb. Thats fine a dandy, yes it would retrain after a few days. Well yesterday around 3am it retrained to 4096kbps. Ok that's fine, I was getting 3.5Mb. I was fine with that.
Well guess what happen this morning at 3am? Retrained to 3072Kbps, I can reboot the modem, I can hookup another modem, no matter what I do 3072Kbps and getting 2.6Mb
I really don't mind as I hope they will upgrade this area soon, but at least email me. Call me or some kind of heads up. 2.6Mb really? My WiMax during peak gets at least 3Mb.
Ok so now my SNR sits at 14db after an hour now that it's lowered, at 4Mb it was about 8db after an hour or more.
Can a Century-link rep look at why they did this here in Ogden, UT last night? I know FAR end FEC errors kept happening alot and now that it's lowered it's min but still there.

| I had the same issue with an actiontec and westell modem/router...they'd drop down into the 4-4.5 range also.
I then tried an old used zyxel 660 modem and that ended my situation of retraining at lower speeds. The 660 stays at a solid 6560 rate for my 6meg connection.
Not sure what your issue relates to, but I've been very happy with my rock solid old/used 660 modem. I'm clueless as to why it works so well compared to the other two modems I had. |

 | reply to Nugz Centurylink as a program for troubled circuits. It will adjust you speed up to 3 times to try and get a stable connection. If your paying for 7mb you should be trained up at 7mb. I would call in may need a service call or your to far for 7mb.... |

My WiMax during peak gets at least 3Mb. Right now they are upgrading fiber adsl2+ dslams to vdsl2 dslams in Roy, Riverdale, and South Ogden. I was upgraded in January. But if your dslam is still using T1's, don't expect an upgrade any time soon. Also my upgrade came as a surprise to me because I talked to a tech a couple of months before and he said that there weren't any plans for the next six months. So just because they say no network upgrades are coming doesn't necessarily mean that it's not going to be upgraded.

 | Now just past 3am, 2560Kbps
No matter what I do, the modem will only retrain to 2560Kbps. LOL all I can say.
kiknwing, That's great, but I take it you like right by that DSLAM in Roy? Thinks it's down after the Chevron on 5600 s right?
I'm right behind the old Toys R Us and connected to the CO on 26th. Attenuation is 51-53dB
O well, I was told by a Centurylink installer the other day they are going to be htting Weber county hard this year. He said he didn't know if my area would get upgraded but at least Weber county is what he knew was going to be getting upgraded.
kiknwing, your speeds look nice for DSL. If I could get them, I wouldn't even need CLEAR right now. Clear gets me around 10 Mb During peak and not peak around 13 Mb »speedtest.net/result/1766067390.png
