I have VoIP (not U-verse Voice) running over my U-verse Internet connection. I'm trying to find a way to set up guaranteed bandwidth for my VoIP traffic without having to put another device between the 2Wire and the rest of the LAN. Has anyone done this? -- The truth is that the State is a conspiracy designed not only to exploit, but above all to corrupt its citizens. - Tolstoy
The QoS for the Uverse gateways are setup like this:
Uverse Voip Traffic > IPTV Traffic > All other Internet traffic.
You can't change the QoS in the gateway, it's setup for the Uverse services to work, then everything else. In my setup I have a DD-WRT router in DMZ+ for all my other internet traffic where I set my Nettalk Duo Voip traffic with #1 priority.
So for me, my QoS looks like this:
IPTV Traffic > (DD-WRT) > Nettalk Voip > All other Internet traffic
reply to lolwhat Enable the ethernet port on the iNID. Plug your VoIP router or server that is running the phone directly into the iNID. Make sure your VDSL lines are silky smooth, UVrealtime is a great tool for that. Find out which protocol and Ports your VoIP uses and create a user defined firewall setting and apply it to the VoIP server's LAN address. There is really no traffic shaping that needs to be, or even can be done with the ATT equipment by the end user to better QoS on VoIP.
