[HSI] Provisioning A Cable ModemDoes this really work? Not sure if I should try it or wait till the morning when customer support is available. » www.myaccount.charter.co ··· eid=2709 |

It worked for me, even though the window didn't close as it should have, when it was finished [for me], it still worked. You've got nothing to lose by trying it. |

I'm 0-3 on that thing working.
I prefer to call in and there is no need to wait for anything. Call now!! |

lol, for a temp measure, just change your computers or routers DNS servers to 8.8.8.8, and 8.8.4.4, and you should get 1mbps service at least. |

Looks like you already have your answer but, FWIW, self-install of a different modem has worked every time for me. |

It's the same portal for customer self-installs/equipment swaps, too. |

Last time, I know, was due to an unsupported modem. |

The times I've done it I didn't need to do anything in the browser for a website address. Once I had the new modem connected, started my computer and opened the browser, it automatically went to Charter's installation page. |

+1 I just purchased a new modem and the above worked for me. Just make sure your router is set to use Charter's DNS servers. (switch them to Google DNS when you're done!) |

It's generally best to connect your computer directly to the modem for the couple of minutes it takes to do the self-provision. |

However, I was able to connect my new cable modem up to my router and I was able to register it without an issue. |
