Verizon FiOS TV → [DVR] 7232 DVR not properly recording

Setup several different shows to record last night and 1 out of 5 of them (House) taped bad. When I start the show nothing happens, well the screen sort of pauses (whatever is on the screen) and then I have to go back to live TV. The show is simply not there. This happens once per month but it's annoying as hell when it does. Do I have a bad sector or something on the hard drive? I don't think it happened prior to the HD guide upgrade though (bug?)...

Any suggestions?

How long ago was the coax cabling done? I had problems with dropping and macroblocking. Even had channels that would not show at all. Tech had me walk through all coax connections, removing one at a time until the signal came in - sure enough I had a splitter that had gone bad with time. Replaced and everything since then has been good.
