[Signals] Recommended attenuator

Had the TV as follows:

         TV Cable box
         ^ ^
Drop > Tap > Modem > 2way -3.5db splitter > Modem

To say the least the TV didn't work out, so now I have replaced the tap with a barrel connector and capped off the 2nd output from the 2 way splitter and I have this:

1) Any reason not to use a 2db attenuators vs a single 4db?
2) What brand does Comcast use and where can I buy them? (not something crazy like a 20 pack)

You might want to go with something like a 10 db pad to bring your transmit level up a bit too. That would put you at 0dB on your forward levels too. Right in the sweet spot.

We used to use these:

»www.techtoolsupply.com/P ··· e=FAM-10

I know we use a different brand now, but probably just because that's what our supplier has. Never heard about any problems with the Hollands...

That basically only makes the transmit figure "look prettier"..
